Youth Ministry
Sunday School
Youth at Ashland (Grades 6-12) meet at 10:00 am in Ashland House across the parking lot from Ashland Hall. We are currently doing a short series called “What Does It Mean?” Where we define theological terminology that we come across in church and how it affects us.
Confirmation Class
Offered for youth beginning in sixth grade. Guided instruction, mentoring, field trip experiences and a Spring retreat provide opportunities to guide students as they grow in faith and consider membership in the United Methodist Church.
Bible Study
Join us for monthly Bible Studies at 6:30 pm at Steve’s Burgers on St. Andrews Rd. prior to 5th Quarter Game nights. Bible Study and 5th Quarter are typically reserved for the last Friday of every month, but occasionally will occur sooner do to Holidays are conflicting events. Each month we look at a new topic or obstacle that youth face in life and how can we deal with them biblically.
Youth Music
The Ashland Youth Choir is a traditional choral ensemble for teens in grades 7-12. This group provides an opportunity for teens to learn scripturally-based music and share their talents with the congregation.
The Youth Choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons and present concerts at Christmas and in the Spring.
In addition to singing and serving, these teens enjoy social outings and other activities together.
Jack Holladay is director of the Youth Choir and may be contacted at pathmusic@ashlandumc.org.
