Robert Neese

Ashland United Methodist Church salutes Robert Neese for his outstanding contributions to our music ministry. Robert has been the Church Organist at Ashland since 2001. He is a native of Columbia. Robert is the father of two children and has six grandchildren.

Robert received his Bachelor of Music in Music Theory from the University of South Carolina in 1975 and his Master of Church Music in organ performance in 1978 from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served Baptist, Episcopal and Methodist congregations over his 38 year career.

In addition to being the cofounder and conductor of the Árpád Darázs Singers, Robert teachers piano, organ and music theory with Carolina Music Academy.

Robert credits his mother for instilling his love of music. He began formal piano lessons with her when he was nine years old. During his student days at USC, Robert sang all four years in the USC Concert Choir.

Thank you, Robert, for using your music gifts to create a spirit of worship in our services.
