Rev. Scott Efird
Pastor
Scott came to Ashland June, 2019. He grew up in Simpsonville, SC. In high school, he traveled all around the United States in competitive gymnastics. After high school, he competed for two years at The Ohio State University as a floor, vault, and still rings specialist (Go Bucks!).

Education
At the old age of 20, he decided to hang up his grips and retire, transferring to Clemson University (Go Tigers!) where he earned a B.S. in Business Management.
After graduation, Scott attended Erskine Theological Seminary, in Due West, S.C. (Due west of what?). Then in 1994, as a student, he served his first appointment: Bath UMC and Clearwater UMC, in Aiken, S.C. Since then, he was served churches in Union, Waco, TX, Fountain Inn, Mauldin, Lancaster, Charleston, Pawleys Island, and now at Ashland UMC. God has also allowed his ministry to stretch all around the world, as he has served God’s people internationally in Jamaica, Peru, and Ecuador; domestically in Mississippi, Charleston, and all over South Carolina, working 30 years with Salkehatchie Summer Service.

Family
As a student at Erskine, he met and married Aimee. She is his partner in life and in ministry. They have three children: Emmaleigh, a junior studying chemistry at Gardner Webb University; Elizabeth, a freshman studying early childhood education at North Greenville University; and Evan, an eighth grader at Meadow Glen Middle School.

Hobbies

cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching Clemson football.
