Located on Millwood Avenue in Columbia, SC, ministers to children, youth and families through a caring, accepting, safe, Christian community. Led by a professional team, the hurts of children, youth and families are healed; hope is given; and faith in God, self, and others is developed.
Epworth is a ministry of the United Methodist Church in South Carolina, and is accredited as an Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading Towards Excellence (EAGLE) Faith-Based Agency. Epworth is also licensed by the state of SC as a Child Placing/Child Caring Agency by the Department of Social Services.

This is an interdenominational ministry established in 1984 that provides
food, clothing, and financial support to poor and struggling families of the
Irmo community. Donations of food, clothing and financial gifts may be made
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon at the ministry center, 147 Friarsgate
Blvd. in Irmo. Call (803) 732-3188.
Ashland sends financial donations throughout the year, and collects food and
clothing every Sunday.
Drop off your food donations in the wicker baskets in the narthex or the
back of Ashland Hall.
For clothing, a large wooden box is located near the Communications Table.
- Ashland Built two ET Houses
Thanks to a generous donor, Ashland volunteers completed their second elderly transportable house in 2005. Mrs. A. Ballard of Spartanburg, whose home was destroyed by fire in 2004, was able to move into her new home in late autumn.
- Homeless Shelter Work
Ashland members work during the winter serving meals for a week at the time
at the Homeless Shelter in downtown Columbia.
In a typical week, over 600 sandwiches, 500 plus cups of soup, 600 desserts,
plus beverages are served to those in need in downtown Columbia.Many Church School classes donate their time as well as provide food for
these meals.
Sign up for this outreach will appear in the newsletter and on the web page
in early winter.
