The following are missions supported by our members taking part in the work of the mission and/or providing financial support or facilities.

Red Bird Mission

Missioners and funding help people in rural areas of Kentucky.  Our member join a team from a nearby church for a week long work camp once a year

Ophthalmology Program in Haiti

Missioners and funding support the Gebeau Eye Clinic in Jeremie, Haiti.  A Columbia ophthalmologist and his assistants volunteer one week a year to travel to perform cataract surgery in Haiti.

Family Promise of the Midlands

Ashland is a host church for Family Promise. Homeless families are housed at the host churches on a rotating schedule until they are able to find suitable housing and regain their independence.

Columbia Salkehatchie Camp

Ashland has for over a decade been the host site for the Camp.  As many as seventy teens and adults spend a week at Ashland in July to repair houses for families in need. Ashland youth and adults also go to other Salkehatchie Camps throughout the state.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Ashland serves as a location for the Lexington/Richland School District 5 ESOL program.  Classes meet three days each week in Ashland classrooms.

Support for Children at Seven Oaks Elementary School

We partner with our neighbor, Seven Oaks Elementary School, to meet needs of the students and their families.

We provide “back-to-school” supplies for their classrooms in August

We participate in the “Snack Pack Program” of non-perishable food items for students to take home for the weekend every weekend throughout the school year.

We provide funding for each student to buy a book at the annual Book Fair.

Children's Garden

Ashland 5^th & 6^th graders make fleece blankets for the children at Children’s Garden, a Volunteers of America service program that provides quality child development services for the pre-school children of homeless and needy families.

Epworth Children’s Home

Ashland contributes financially to Epworth Children’s Home, and our families purchase Christmas gifts for Epworth children every year.  Epworth Children’s Home provides group residential care for children and youth from all of South Carolina.

Oliver Gospel Mission

Ashland Sunday School classes support Oliver Gospel Mission.

Sharing God's Love

Ashland members collect clothing and household goods to share with our neighbors through this local ministry, helping families in crisis.

Families helping Families

Ashland supports a local TV station’s Christmas project financially and our members volunteer to provide Christmas gifts to needy families.

Killingsworth

Ashland’s United Methodist Women support Killingsworth through financial and material gifts during the year.

Recycle Bicycle

Ashland supports members who repair bicycles for the homeless.

Homeworks

Our youth and the adults working with them repair homes of homeowners in need.  Homeworks is a Christ-centered non-profit organization providing home repair services to low-income homeowners while mentoring youth in the process.
